STAMFORD, CT, June 6, 2006—Dan Petrelle, Chief Operating Officer of Splash Management L.L.P., was honored June 1 as one of 40 Under 40 outstanding business executives by seven Connecticut chambers of commerce.

Petrelle and 39 others were chosen by a countywide panel of judges for having achieved distinction as leaders in their fields before reaching the age of 40. The awards were issued at the corporate headquarters of Conair Corp., 1 Cummings Point Road, Stamford.

Petrelle, 35, went from being homeless at age 18 to a car wash attendant and manager before joining Splash in 2000, when the company had six sites and about $6 million in annual revenues.

“Dan’s management approach, motivational skills and operational expertise, all acquired through the school of hard knocks and his own personal drive to succeed, led to his appointment as director of human resources at Splash and later to partner and chief operating officer,” said Splash President and co-founder Mark Curtis.

Under Petrelle’s leadership, Splash has added 13 locations, has become the eighth-largest conveyorized car wash chain in the country and is doing more than $20 million in annual revenues.

“His success should be an inspiration to everyone at any age,” said Curtis.

Conair was the event’s Presenting Sponsor and ConnectiCare was Supporting Sponsor. Other sponsors included Fairfield County Business Journal; Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce; Darien Chamber of Commerce; Greenwich Chamber of Commerce; Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce; Stamford Chamber of Commerce; Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce; and Wilton Chamber of Commerce.
